Revitalizing University Ave. Corridor

In 2013 Price Charities asked a group of graduate planning students to focus on the revitalization of the University Ave. corridor.  Led by two accomplished USC Price MPL graduates, Jennifer Longabaugh an environmental planner with DUDEK and  Michelle Buchmeier, a real estate attorney, the students developed a range of creative community plans centered on the adaptive re-use of a historic neighborhood theater.  Ideas ranged from a Mercado incubator of ethnic restaurants led by local entrepreneurs to whimsical place-making.  The planning studio provided an essential link between academic education and preparation for professional practice.
