Description: Gary Painter, Director of the Price Center and Kimberly Bailey, Pay for Success Senior Associate at the Nonprofit Finance Fund, will preview their new book Payment by Results and Social Impact Bonds: Outcome-based payment systems in the UK and US.

Bio: Professor Painter’s research interests focuses on social innovation, housing, urban economics, and education policy. He is among the world’s foremost experts on how changing demographics impact U.S. housing markets. Recent work has focused on how immigrants are integrating into housing markets across the U.S. and the role of the economic cycle on household formation. Other recent work has studied immigrant integration issues in spatial labor markets and in education. Current research focuses on how to evaluate social innovation.

Ms. Bailey partners closely with subgrantees in NFF’s Social Innovation Fund Pay for Success (PFS) program and California PFS Initiative. She recently led the redesign and relaunch of NFF’s Pay for Success Learning Hub (payforsuccess.org), and supports other outcomes-oriented work. Prior to joining NFF in 2014, she worked as an independent consultant, a Senior Analyst at Blue Garnet, and a Graduate Fellow at NFF. Ms. Bailey holds a master’s in public policy from the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in history and international studies from the University of Washington.
