Christopher Maikish is a Master of Public Administration candidate at the USC Sol Price School for Public Policy, focusing on communications design and public sector storytelling. He is interested in cultivating meaningful ways in which everyday citizens can connect with governance and participate in their communities for improved social capital and public value.
Chris currently consults with charitable and nonprofit arts organizations as a communications strategist and content designer across digital and print media. As a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Music, he is an active advocate for the arts, volunteering both as a development officer for Celebration Theatre, the nation’s oldest LGBTQ theatre in continual operation, and as the co-founder of a Los Angeles-based concert series dedicated to amplifying new voices and stories in theatre songwriting, now in partnership with the ASCAP Foundation. Over the years, Chris has also volunteered for several election campaigns and state & local measures.
He believes that the intersection of policy data, human narrative, and collaborative dialogue can promote shared understanding and more effective co-design of the solutions to many public challenges.
