Unhoused: Addressing Homelessness During and After the Pandemic

The USC Schwarzenegger Institute and the Sol Price Center for Social Innovation hosted a virtual event that examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on homelessness and the housing crisis.

Gary Painter, Director of the USC Sol Price Center for Social Innovation and Director of the Homelessness Policy Research Institute, and Saba Mwine, Managing Director of the Homelessness Policy Research Institute provided a research overview of homelessness and the housing crisis, and looked at lessons learned and ways to transform some of the short-term pandemic innovations into long-term solutions. This event also highlighted some public policy tools and private-public partnerships have been formed during the last year and a half to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on Californians experiencing homelessness or possible evictions.
